Consistent & Convenient: Our apprenticeship/craft training program efficiently moves apprentices through the required coursework by covering multiple topics per year meeting the hour requirements as mandated by the Conn. Department of Labor. Enrolling once means one book, one instructor and meeting in one location for the yearly enrollment period. While the classroom hours are applied towards the required Related Instruction hours for each trade, we also incorporate hands-on learning whenever possible and as our curriculum prescribes.
Qualified Instructors: The success of our program lies in the quality of our instructors. Construction Education Center instructors are skilled professionals in the trade they teach. All courses are taught by individuals who hold a license, where required, in the trade in which they continue to work, brining their collective knowledge and experience which enhances the classroom experience. Instructors are certified through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and attend workshops throughout the year to sharpen their classroom skills.
Transfer Credits: The CEC staff works one on one with each applicant to determine the correct placement in our program. If you have completed apprenticeship training coursework at other institutions, we will review your transcripts and communicate directly with the Connecticut Department of Education Technical High School System to confirm our evaluation.
