 Course Catalog: Continuing Education
The Construction Education Center is an official provider (#1275) of Continuing Education classes for plumbers and electricians in the state of Connecticut. We have received approval for the 2012 Electrical requirement and the 2012 - 2013 Plumbing requirement.
Section 20-334d of the Connecticut General Statutes requires that all types of electrical license holders and most types of plumbing license holders obtain continuing education hours of instruction to renew their respective licenses.

Electrical Continuing Education for the 2012 Renewal Year

The Construction Education Center is an official provider (#1275) of Continuing Education
classes for electricians in the state of Connecticut for the 2012 requirement. It is mandatory for
licensed electricians to attend continuing education classes on a yearly basis. Beginning in 2012, 4 CE hours are required for
license renewal and the class must be taken before renewal.
The 2012 class will include instruction on:
- New Connecticut Public Acts Affecting Electricians
- DOL Division of Wage & Workplace & Standards FAQs for Employers
- International Residential Code
- International Building Code
- CT State Building Codes
- Top 10 OSHA Violations
- NFPA 70E Electrical Safety in the Workplace
- National Electrical Code Significant Changes: Review of the changes between the 2005, 2008 and 2011 National Electrical Code Books
- Calculations showing comparisons between the 2005, 2008 and 2011 code.
All license holders attending classes are required to have their own copy of the
2005 National Electrical Code as well as a functioning calculator.

Plumbing Continuing Education for the 2012-2013 Renewal Year

The Construction Education Center is an official provider (#1275) of Continuing Education classes for plumbers in the state of Connecticut. It is mandatory for licensed plumbers to attend continuing education classes for a total of 5 or 7 CE hours for license renewal. Journeymen are required to complete 5 hours of continuing education every odd numbered year as a condition of license renewal. Contractors must complete 7 hours of continuing education every even numbered year as a condition of license renewal
